You can find Central India Tea Company right in the middle of the chaos at Chandpole Bazar. Our shop is A8, located on Khanewal Ka Rasta. If you know the bazar, you know it’s always crowded with people, rickshaws, and cows. It’s a very old part of the city, and our shop is tucked into one of those narrow lanes. We’ve been here for years, and the walls are stained with the age of the building. We don't have much room inside, so we stack our tea chests high up toward the ceiling. Sometimes it feels like they might fall, but we’ve got a system. We don't have air conditioning, so we keep the big fan running all day long. It’s loud, but it helps with the heat. Customers come in and sit on the small wooden stools we have. We talk about the weather or the news while we weigh out their orders. It’s a very social place. We don't have a fancy computer system. Everything is written down in big ledgers with a pen. It might seem old-fashioned to some, but it works for us. The smell of the bazar is a mix of spices and street food, which blends in with our tea. We close up when the sun goes down and the market starts to quiet a bit. It’s just a regular shop in a busy market, nothing more than that.
