If you find yourself in Old Jalupura, you’ll probably notice the smell of tea leaves near 71 Sansar Chandra Road. That’s where Bansal Tea Co is located. We have been in this building for a long time. The shop is filled with large jute bags and metal tins full of different kinds of tea. We sell to everyone from small local stalls to families who want a good brew at home. It’s a very old-fashioned way of doing things. We don't have fancy labels or a modern storefront. We just weigh the tea on a scale and put it in plain bags. The floor is made of old stone and the walls have seen better days. It gets very busy in the mornings when the local sellers come to restock. My brothers and I handle the lifting and the sales. It can be quite tiring because the bags are heavy. We don't have a website or a social media page. If people want our tea, they know where to find us. We know our neighbors well and we often share a cup of tea with the other shopkeepers on the street. It’s a tight community here in Old Jalupura. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just sell tea that we think is decent for a fair price. It’s a quiet life, mostly, and we like it that way.
