We set up our office at 605 Vibhav Enkjitiv App in Surya Nagar. It’s a bit different being in a building like this, but we are still just a group of farmers at heart. The sangathan is really just about people coming together. We realized a while back that we could handle things better if we pooled our resources. Most of the folks involved have been farming for decades. We talk a lot about the old ways versus the new ways. Some of the younger guys have different ideas, and we listen, even if we don't always agree. Our days are filled with phone calls to different suppliers and trying to organize transport. It’s not always smooth. Sometimes the trucks don't show up or the weather ruins a plan. We don't have a big staff with fancy titles. We just have people who know how to get things done. You might see us sitting around a table with a lot of papers, trying to make sense of the new rules. We don't use much marketing talk because we don't really need it. Everyone knows who we are in the local area. We just want to make sure the kisan have a fair shot. It’s about the community more than anything else. We keep things simple and try to stay out of trouble. It’s a lot of work, but it’s better than trying to do it all alone in the fields.
