Running Bairathi Kirana & General Store here in Bapu Nagar keeps us on our toes every single day. We are located at B-25 Janta Store, right near Tonk Road in the Jaipur G P O area. It’s a lively part of the city and there’s always something happening outside the door. Our shop is packed to the ceiling with all kinds of household items. We’ve got the basics like oil and flour, but also the small things like hair pins or batteries that people always forget they need. The students from around Bapu Nagar stop by a lot for biscuits or cold drinks when it's hot out. It’s not a big corporate supermarket, just a local store where the floors might be a bit dusty from the road traffic. We spend a lot of time arranging the jars and making sure the packets are visible. Sometimes the rain makes the street outside a mess, but people still come in for their groceries. We’ve been at this address for a long time, so we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. Jaipur is growing fast, but our little corner remains pretty much the same. We open up early and don't really close until the last person has gone home for the night. It's just simple work, selling things people need for their kitchens and homes. We don't use any fancy systems, just a notebook and some patience. You can find us right there at Janta Store near the main road.
