Bagiya The Flower Shoppe

People usually find us right across from the National Hand Loom in Vd Nagar. It’s Shop No. 7, tucked into B-23. Most mornings start early here because the flowers show up before the sun is even fully up. We spend a good chunk of the morning cutting stems and getting the water buckets ready. It gets pretty humid inside the shop, especially when it’s hot outside, but the smell of roses and lilies makes it okay. Sometimes the floor stays wet for hours because we’re constantly moving things around. We’ve got all sorts of stuff, from small bunches to the bigger arrangements people take for parties. It’s a small space, so things can get a bit cluttered when a big delivery arrives. People from the neighborhood stop by just to see what’s fresh that day. We try to keep things simple. You might see us sitting on the small stools near the counter, just trimming greens or chatting with someone who walked in. It isn’t a fancy setup, just a regular flower shop where we do our work. Some days are crazy busy with weddings, and other days we just wait for someone to need a quick gift. The fridge hums in the back, keeping the more delicate petals from wilting too fast. It’s just how things go here at Bagiya. We’ve been at this spot for a while now, and the routine hasn't changed much over the years.
