Ashok General Store

Ashok General Store is located at 34 Nehru Bazar, which is always a hectic place to be. There are shops all around us and people are constantly moving back and forth. Our space is quite narrow, so we have to stack things pretty high to fit everything in. We have stuff like plastic buckets, cleaning supplies, and some basic kitchenware tucked into the corners. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes if you aren’t used to it. The floor is tiled but some of them are cracked from years of moving heavy boxes. We don't use any fancy lighting, just some basic tubes that flick on every morning. The noise from the bazar is something you just get used to after a while. We spend a good part of the morning checking what we sold and what we need to get from the wholesalers. It is a very hands-on kind of job. There isn't any air conditioning, so we just rely on the breeze that comes through the door and a couple of old fans on the wall. We know our neighbors well and often share tea with the shopkeepers next door during the slow hours in the afternoon. It is just a regular life in the market, trying to keep the shelves stocked and dealing with the daily rush of customers who come looking for a bargain. Sometimes we help people find specific items that other shops don't have.
