Being located on Station Road, right near the Railway Road, means things never really get quiet. Ashok General Store & Provisional Store is in a spot where there are always travelers coming and going. We keep a lot of stuff that people might need in a hurry, like biscuits, water bottles, and small toiletries. The shelves stay quite full because we try to have a bit of everything for the local families and the people catching trains. It’s a busy place, and boxes often pile up near the entrance, making it a bit messy. No one here follows corporate rules or works in a big team. We just stand behind the counter and help whoever walks in. The noise from the station is always there in the background, with the trains and the announcements going off. Sometimes people come in just to ask for directions or to wait for a bit if their train is late. We have lived and worked around Station Road for a long time, so we are used to the pace. A lot of the job involves lifting heavy crates and stocking the fridge with cold drinks for the heat. We open up early and don't close until late at night when the last few people are heading home. Selling the things people use every day and keeping the shop running is what we do. It’s just normal work.
