Arya Niwas

Arya Niwas is tucked away behind Amber Towers on Sansar Chandra Road in Jaipur. The 302001 area code is right in the heart of things, so it can get pretty hectic outside our doors. We have been here for a long time, and the building itself has a lot of character, even if it’s not perfectly modern. You walk through the entrance and it feels like you've stepped back a little bit from the noise of the main road. We have a lot of rooms and they are all a bit different from each other. The staff here are like family; some of them have been working the desk or the kitchen for decades. We don't really go in for those flashy advertisements or big promises. We just provide a place to sleep and some food in the dining room. Sometimes the plumbing is a bit old or the stairs are a little steep, but it is a real place with real history. Guests usually like sitting in the open areas when the weather is nice, just reading or talking. We spend our mornings making sure the linens are fresh and the courtyard is clean. It’s a lot of management and fixing things as they break, but we like the pace of it. It’s just a steady, local hotel where we try to be useful to people visiting Jaipur. The city is changing fast, but we try to keep this little corner consistent.
