Anita Kirana & General Store

Our shop is on Kalwar Road, right across from Kardhani in the Jhotwara Industrial Area. It’s an interesting spot because we get a mix of people who live nearby and workers from the industrial area. We’ve been running this kirana and general store for some time. We stock a bit of everything, from spices and flour to soap and batteries. It’s a practical place for people to stop and grab what they need on their way home. The road outside can be quite dusty with all the trucks and vehicles going to the industrial units. We spend a lot of time wiping down the jars and packets. It’s just the two of us mostly, and we keep things running as best as we can. We don’t have any big corporate goals. We just want to make sure the shelves are full and the customers are satisfied with what they buy. Sometimes we run out of things if the delivery truck is late, but that's just how it goes sometimes. Jhotwara is a busy part of the city, and we like being right in the middle of it. It’s a lot of hard work, especially during the festive seasons when everyone is buying more than usual. But we enjoy the routine and the people we meet every day. We don't have a big fancy sign, just the name Anita Kirana painted on the front. It's home for us.
