Anil Tea Stall is located at Bhuwneshwari Vatika on Bajri Mandi Road in the Vaishali Nagar area of Jaipur. I started this stall because people always need a good cup of tea when they are out on the road. It’s a simple setup with a big stove and some benches for people to sit on. We make tea with plenty of ginger and cardamom, especially in the winters when it gets cold in Jaipur. The Bajri Mandi Road is always busy with trucks and laborers, so we open very early in the morning. You can hear the sound of the tea being poured from high up to make it frothy. We also have some biscuits and buns if someone is hungry. It’s not a fancy cafe or anything. It’s just a place where you can get a hot glass of tea for a few rupees. Most of my customers are regulars who stop by every single day on their way to work. We talk about the local news or the cricket match from the night before. I have a small radio that plays old songs in the background. The tea stall is small and sometimes the steam makes everything a bit damp, but nobody seems to mind. We just keep the stove burning and the tea flowing. It’s an honest job and I like being my own boss here on the roadside. It is a simple way to spend the day.
