Amit Sarees

Amit Sarees is located in Kaushalya Mansion, on the 2nd floor, over in Purohit Ji Ka Katla in Johari Bazar. If you know this area, you know how crowded it gets every single day. The Katla is famous for textiles, and we are right in the middle of all that action. Our shop is a bit hard to find if you don't know the way through the building, but once you get up the stairs, it’s a big space filled with sarees. We do a lot of wholesale, so there are always big bundles tied up with string sitting on the floor waiting to be moved. It’s not the kind of place where you find fancy mannequins or glass displays. Instead, we have simple wooden shelves that go all the way to the ceiling. We spend most of the day answering the phone and showing different patterns to shopkeepers who come from other parts of the state to buy stock. It’s a busy environment. We usually have tea three or four times a day just to keep our energy up. The hallways in the mansion are narrow and sometimes the lightbulbs are out, but we know the way by heart. We have been operating out of this same spot for a long time now. We don't bother with much marketing. The quality of the cloth speaks for itself when people feel it. We just keep our heads down, do our work, and make sure the orders are ready on time.
