Amit Fancy General Store

I've been running this shop at A/442 in the Murlipura Scheme for quite some time now. People usually just call it Amit’s place when they need something quick for the house. It is a small general store, but I try to keep the shelves filled with all the little things people ask for daily. You will find threads, buttons, some fancy items for kids, and the usual household stuff. The shop isn't very big, so things are stacked pretty high up on the shelves. My morning starts early, around eight, when I roll up the metal shutters. I usually spend the first hour dusting the glass counters and rearranging the plastic containers that get moved around by customers looking for things. Murlipura is a busy area, so there is always some noise from the street outside. I sit on a small plastic stool near the entrance most of the day. Some neighbors stop by just to chat for a few minutes while they pick up a packet of biscuits or some soap. It gets a bit crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming back from work and school. I don't have many people helping me, so I handle most of the billing and packing myself. It is a simple life here in this corner of the colony. I know most of the families around here by name now. If someone needs a specific color of thread or a certain brand of snack, they know I probably have it tucked away somewhere on a back shelf.
