If you walk down Khajanewalo Ka Rasta in Indira Bazar, you will find us at 365 Sawarda Complex. Ajay Sarees has been here for a good number of years now. The complex is always humming with people looking for different fabrics and clothes. Our shop isn't very large, but we pack a lot of sarees into the space we have. You’ll see stacks of them reaching almost to the ceiling. We mostly deal with everyday sarees that women can wear at home or for small gatherings. It’s a simple setup. We have some white sheets on the floor where we sit and show the pieces to whoever walks in. Sometimes the lights flicker when the power is acting up in the bazar, but we just keep going. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so the ceiling fan is always running at full speed. We get our stock from different places, and it changes depending on the month and what people are asking for. My brother and I manage the counter, and we usually have some tea waiting if a regular customer drops by to chat about the local news. The stairs leading up to the complex can be a bit steep and narrow, but people don't seem to mind much. We just try to keep things honest and show people what we have without any unnecessary fuss. It’s just a regular local business in a busy part of town where everyone knows everyone else’s name.
