Ajanta Store

We have been at Ajanta Store for many years now. The shop is at 364, Main Khatipura Road in Jhotwara. This part of Jaipur has changed a lot since we first opened. There are so many more cars and bikes on the road now. Our shop is a simple place where we sell everyday items. I usually get here around nine to open the locks. The morning air is the best time of the day. We have regular customers who have been coming to us since they were kids. Now they bring their own children. It makes me feel a bit old. The shelves are filled with plastic containers and household goods. We do not have a lot of modern decor. It is just a practical space. Sometimes the roof leaks a little when the monsoon rains are heavy. We just put a bucket under it and keep going. My wife helps me with the accounts in the evening. We keep everything in a big register. It is a small business and we handle everything ourselves. We do not have fancy uniforms or anything like that. Just plain clothes and a bit of conversation with anyone who walks in. The evenings are the busiest time when everyone is heading home. We stay open until the street gets quiet. It is just what we do every single day.
