Agrawal Kirana And General Store is our little place in Shastri Nagar. It is a quiet residential area for the most part, so we see the same faces every single day. We've been in this spot for a long time, and the building is showing its age a bit, but it works for us. We stock everything from cooking oil to school notebooks. It's a bit cramped inside because we try to keep a little bit of everything in case a neighbor needs it. My kids sometimes help out after school, especially when we have to unload the sacks of rice. It’s not a fancy business with bright signs or anything. We just have the name painted above the door. Most of our work is just keeping track of the inventory and making sure nothing goes bad. We talk to the uncles and aunties who walk over in the evenings. It’s a social thing as much as a business. Sometimes the fridge for the cold drinks acts up, and we have to call someone to fix it, which is always a hassle. But usually, things go smooth. We don't do home delivery with fancy apps; if someone needs something, they just send their kid over or come themselves. It’s just a basic store serving the local people around Shastri Nagar, and that's enough for us.
