Agarwal Sarees

You can find Agarwal Sarees at number 47 on Lal Ji Sand Ka Rasta, which is right in the heart of Johari Bazar. If you know this area, you know how crowded it gets. There are people everywhere and the noise never really stops. Our shop is tucked away in one of the lanes. It’s a small space, but we manage to fit a lot of sarees inside. We have been working out of this location for a long time. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we usually have them covered with stacks of boxes anyway. We deal with many different types of fabrics, from simple daily wear to things that are a bit heavier for special days. It’s a lot of manual work, moving bundles around and making sure nothing gets snagged. We don't have a big team. It is just a few of us who know where everything is kept. Sometimes a customer asks for a specific color we saw last week, and it takes us ten minutes to dig it out from the bottom of a pile. That's just how it goes here. We don't spend money on fancy displays. We just show the cloth as it is. The marble floor is cold in the winter, which is nice, but we have to wear thick socks. We just stay focused on the daily tasks of running a shop in such a busy market. It keeps us busy and we don't complain.
