Adhikari Prahlad Singh

My office is at E-47 in Mansarovar, specifically in the Vidhansabha Nager area of Dholai. It is a simple setup in a residential part of the neighborhood, so it stays fairly quiet most of the time. I spend most of my day sitting behind a wooden desk piled high with files and legal-looking papers. There is a small bench outside for people who arrive early for their appointments. I don't have a big staff, so I usually answer the door and the phone myself. It involves a lot of reading and writing out notes by hand before I type them up. People come to me with all sorts of problems or paperwork that needs to be sorted out. I try to keep everything in order, but sometimes the files start to take over the whole room. Mansarovar is a large area, and being in Dholai means I get a lot of local people stopping by. I usually have a pot of tea going, and I offer a cup to anyone who comes in. The work is mostly about listening to what people need and then figuring out the right way to handle the documents. It isn't very exciting, but it is necessary work. I have been doing this for quite a while now, and I know how the system works. Some days are slow, and I just spend the time organizing my drawers or catching up on reading. Other days, I barely have time to eat lunch.
