Vanu Hair Dresses

Vanu Hair Dresses is our little shop at Tripuri Chowk in the Garha area of Jabalpur. We are located right on Amanpur Road, which is a place that always has something going on. The chowk is noisy with all the traffic and people shouting, but inside the shop, it is just the sound of the scissors and the fan. We have some wooden cabinets where we keep the towels and the different bottles of oil and hair cream. The chairs are old-fashioned and they squeak a little when you pump them up to the right height. We have a big clock on the wall that is usually five minutes fast, but we never bother to change it. Most of the people who come here are from around Garha and they just want a quick haircut or a beard trim. We keep a stack of local newspapers on the side table, but they usually end up on the floor. The walls are a light green color that has faded over the years where the sun hits it. We don't have a lot of space, so things can feel a bit crowded when three or four people are waiting. We just keep our heads down and do the work, one person after another. It is a simple life and a simple business here on Amanpur Road. We close up when the market starts to get quiet at night.
