We run Euro Kids over in the Damoh Naka area of Jabalpur. It’s a busy neighborhood, and we’re right in the middle of it. Since we work with younger children, the atmosphere here is always quite energetic. There’s usually some music playing or kids laughing in the background. We’ve set up the rooms with plenty of colors and toys because that’s what works for the little ones. It’s a lot of work keeping up with toddlers and preschoolers, but our staff is used to the pace. We spend the mornings doing activities like drawing or playing games that help them learn their letters. The space isn’t huge, but we’ve organized it so there’s enough room for everyone to move. We have a small area for outdoor play too, which is a favorite for the kids. Parents from around Jabalpur drop their children off on their way to work. We know most of the families pretty well by now. It’s a noisy, happy kind of place most of the time. We don’t try to make it feel like a cold institution; it’s more like a second home for the kids while their parents are busy. We keep things simple and focus on making sure the children are safe and occupied with something useful. Sometimes things get messy with the paints and crayons, but that is just part of the job. It is a lively little spot.
