Bachpan Play School

Our little play school is located in Vijay Nagar, right above the Polytech International Workshop. It is a bit of a landmark in the colony. You walk up the stairs and you are in our world of small chairs and bright posters. Jabalpur can get quite busy, and Vijay Nagar is a lively area, so there is always something going on outside. Inside, we are busy with the small kids who come here every morning. They bring their lunch boxes and tiny bags. We have different sections for different activities, like a corner for blocks and a space for drawing. The teachers spend their time helping the kids learn their ABCs and numbers. It gets loud when they all start singing together. We have to be careful with the stairs because the kids are so small. Most of the families who send their children here live in the nearby blocks of Vijay Nagar Colony. It feels like a small community. We do not have a big fancy office; it is just a desk where we keep the registers and talk to parents when they drop off their kids. It is a simple place that works for the neighborhood families. We have been here for several years now and the walls have seen a lot of finger painting. We just try to make it a safe spot for them to spend their mornings before they go home.
