About Yeshodhan Handicrafts – Art & Craft in Indore
We are located at 36, Sadar Bazar, right on the Main Road. If you’ve ever been to Sadar Bazar, you know how crowded it gets, especially in the afternoons. Our shop is packed tight with all sorts of things we’ve brought in. There isn’t much room to move around once a few people come inside at the same time. We have shelves that go all the way up, and we use a rickety old ladder to reach the stuff on top. It’s a bit chaotic, but we know where everything is. The noise from the street is constant—horns honking and people shouting—but it’s just part of our day. We’ve been in this same spot for a long time, and the building has some character, like the creaky wooden floorboards that make a sound every time someone walks near the back. We don’t have a big staff, just a few of us who have worked together forever. We spend a lot of time wrapping things up in paper and tying them with string. It’s a lot of manual work, and our hands are usually a bit dirty by the end of the shift. We don’t use any fancy computers for everything; a lot of our notes are still kept in big notebooks. It’s just how we’ve always done it here in the middle of the bazaar.
