Yaminis Unisex Salons

We are over here at Ankur Annex in Scheme No 54. It’s a busy spot in Vijay Nagar, especially being so close to Satya Sai Square and the old State Bank of Indore building. The shop is at number 103. We’ve been here for a while now, just doing what we do. It’s a unisex salon, so you see all sorts of people coming through the door. Some days it’s really quiet and you can just hear the hum of the fans, but other times it’s a bit of a madhouse with everyone wanting a trim at once. We have the usual chairs and mirrors you’d expect. Sometimes the traffic outside gets loud, but inside it’s mostly just the sound of clippers or someone chatting about their day. Cleaning up takes a lot of time, and hair has a way of getting everywhere no matter how much you sweep. It’s just a regular local business. People from the neighborhood know where we are. We open up in the morning, get the towels ready, and wait for the first person to walk in. There’s no big fancy sign or anything, just the name on the door. A lot of time is spent standing on our feet, but that’s the job. It feels good when someone looks in the mirror and looks a bit different than when they sat down. That’s pretty much the story of Yaminis. Just a small shop in a busy part of Indore.
