Shri Balaji Earth Movers

Shri Balaji Earth Movers is based at Plot No.145 in Ajay Bagh, right off the Musakhedi Main Road. It’s a dusty part of town, which I guess is fitting for a business that moves earth. We have our yard where we keep the excavators and the dump trucks. I’m usually there early in the morning, making sure the engines start up okay before the sun gets too hot. Most of our work is around the district, so the machines are often out for days at a time. The office is just a small room at the front of the plot. It’s where I keep the keys and the logbooks. It’s a simple setup, and we don’t have any fancy decorations. People know us because we’ve been here for years. My brother helps with the mechanical side of things, as there’s always a hose leaking or a belt that needs changing. We don’t really do marketing; we just rely on people seeing our machines working on sites along the road. It’s honest work, and it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk. Sometimes the ground is harder than we expected, which makes the job take longer. We just take it as it comes. Being on the main road makes it easy for people to stop by and ask for a quote or just to say hello while they're passing through.
