Maa Sharda Earth Movers

If you come looking for us at Plot No. 20-B, you’ll find us on the first floor above the Kalyan Vishrant Grah. It’s right on Jhabu Tower Road, so the sound of the traffic is pretty much the background music to our day. Since we’re so close to Railway Station 2, we hear the trains coming and going all the time. It’s a dusty kind of place, which makes sense given the work we do with earth movers and heavy machinery. The office is usually a bit of a mess with blueprints and logs scattered around. We don't spend much time worrying about the decor. The floor is easy to sweep because we’re always dragging in dirt from the sites. There’s a small balcony where some of us stand to catch a bit of air when things get too quiet inside, though it’s never really quiet for long. Most of the guys are out on the field, so it’s often just a couple of us here handling the phones and the scheduling. We’ve got a small kettle in the corner that’s almost always hot. People stop by to talk about upcoming jobs or just to check in on progress. It’s a straightforward way of working, without any unnecessary layers. We just sit here, take the calls, and make sure the machines are where they need to be. Sometimes it's stressful but that's just life.
