Shree Ganesh Hair Saloon

Out here on the Main Road in Musakhedi, things are always moving fast. Our little saloon is right in the middle of it all, near Azad Nagar. It’s a simple place with a blue front and some old posters on the walls that have faded over the years. We don’t have a big sign or anything flashy to bring people in. People just know we’re here. Inside, it smells like talcum powder and shaving cream. We keep a few newspapers on the table for when there’s a wait, but mostly people just talk to each other. The floor is concrete and shows its age, but it’s easy to sweep up. We’ve been in Indore for a long time, and Musakhedi has changed a lot, but this shop stays mostly the same. The fans hum along and we just keep cutting. We don’t do any of those fancy styles you see in magazines; we just give a decent haircut that looks proper. Sometimes the water pressure is a bit low, so we have to use the spray bottles more. It’s a humble setup, but it’s ours. Neighbors stop by just to say hello even if they don’t need a trim. That’s the kind of place this is. We work hard, keep the shop open late, and try to make sure everyone leaves looking a bit better than when they walked in.
