Rakesh Hair Salon

You can find our shop at 501 on the Main Road in Tilak Nagar. We are right across from the Uco Bank, so it’s easy to spot if you are walking by. It is just a small salon, nothing too special to look at from the outside. Inside, we have the usual chairs and mirrors. We have been cutting hair here for the people of Indore for quite a while. Most of our regulars live just a few streets away. They come in for a haircut or a shave and we catch up on what’s happening in the neighborhood. It gets quite busy on Sunday mornings, so there might be a short wait. We have a bench for people to sit on. Sometimes the news is on the TV, or we just talk. It isn't a silent place. We try to keep it tidy, but with hair, it's a constant job with the broom. The location is good because of the bank and other shops nearby. People finish their errands and then stop in here. We don't do appointments; you just show up and wait your turn. It’s a simple routine we follow every day. The light inside is a bit bright, but it helps us see what we are doing. We just try to do an honest job and go home to our families at night. It's a living.
