You can find us over at 12, Maharani Road. It’s an old building, and the stairs are a bit narrow, but it’s been our home for a long time. There are always stacks of ledgers and old files around because we still like having things on paper. The street outside is usually packed with people and rickshaws, so it can be quite a struggle just to get to the front door some mornings. We deal with various things here, mostly stuff people need for their businesses. It’s a family-run kind of vibe, even for the staff who aren't related. We know the regulars by name and usually end up chatting about their kids or the weather for a few minutes before getting down to business. It gets a bit dark in the back of the shop, so we have to keep the lights on all day. The ceiling fan wobbles a little, but it keeps the air moving. We aren't looking to grow into some huge corporation. We just like staying right here on Maharani Road and doing what we’ve always done. It’s simple, and it works for us. Sometimes the phone rings off the hook and other times it’s quiet enough to read the newspaper properly. That’s just the way the days go by here. We try to be helpful when people walk in, even if we are in the middle of counting stock.
