Minal Beauty Parlour

Minal Beauty Parlour has been here in Indarpuri for a while. If you know the Bhawar Kuan area in Indore, you know it's always crowded with students and people going to work. Our shop is just one of many, but we’ve made our own space here. The zip code is 452001, right in the thick of it. I spend most of my day inside these four walls. It’s not a fancy corporate setup, just a local parlour where women come to get their hair done or maybe a facial. The walls are a simple color and we have the usual equipment like hair dryers and some creams on the shelf. Sometimes the fan makes a bit of noise, but it keeps the place cool during the Indore summers. People come in from the main road, looking for a bit of a change or just their monthly routine. Bhawar Kuan has changed a lot since I started. There are more shops now and the traffic is louder, but inside Minal Beauty Parlour, it’s just the usual business. I handle most things myself, and sometimes I have someone helping out when it’s wedding season or a festival is coming up. It’s a lot of standing and talking, but I like hearing the stories of the people who live around Indarpuri. It’s just a normal shop for normal people. We keep the mirrors clean and try to make sure everyone leaves okay.
