Mehandi Arts

Mehandi Arts is located on M G Road in Indore. This road is always full of people and cars, and we are right in the middle of all that action. Our work is mostly about sitting down and being patient. We spend hours with cones of henna, making patterns on hands and feet. It’s a quiet kind of work compared to how noisy the street is outside. The pin code here is 452001, which is the heart of the city. We don’t have a big fancy office or anything like that. It’s a modest setup where the smell of fresh mehandi is always in the air. We’ve seen the city change a lot over the years, but people still want the same traditional designs for their special days. Sometimes our backs ache from leaning over for so long, but that is part of the job we do. We keep a few stools for the customers and some old photo albums of designs we have done before. It’s not a corporate business; it’s just us and our art. People usually find us by word of mouth or by just walking past our sign on the busy road. We don't use any chemicals, just the natural stuff that stains well. It is a very simple way to earn a living, and we enjoy the conversations we have with people while they wait for their mehandi to dry. The road outside never stops, but in here we take our time. We like it that way.
