Kanha Hair Salon

Kanha Hair Salon sits right on Sica School Road at number 23/3. Being in the Vijay Nagar area of Indore means there are always people moving around the shop. Since we are located near Life Care Hospital, it gets a bit crowded on the street with people coming and going all day. The shop is not a huge space, but we make it work with the three chairs we have lined up. I usually start the day by wiping down the counters and checking that we have enough clean towels. The school kids walk by in the morning and afternoon, making a lot of noise outside the window. Indore gets quite dusty, so I am always sweeping the floor even when there are no customers. We have a couple of large mirrors on the wall that have some spots on the glass we can never seem to get off. It is just how things are. People come in for a quick shave or a haircut before heading to their jobs. We do not have a big sign, just enough of a name on the door so you know it is us. The chairs are old-fashioned, the kind that pump up and down with a foot pedal. Sometimes they squeak when they rotate. I keep a water spray bottle handy to keep the hair down. It is a plain place. No air conditioning here, just a ceiling fan that wobbles a little when it is on high.
