Jai Shree Ganesh Hair Salon

Jai Shree Ganesh Hair Salon is right on Khajrana Road in the Khajrana area of Indore. We are sitting directly opposite the Khajrana Public School, which means it gets very loud and busy when the school bell rings. The address is 452016. I spend most of my day in this shop, watching the kids run around outside and the parents waiting for them. It’s a lively spot to be in. The shop is a basic one-room setup with a couple of mirrors and some wooden benches for people to sit on while they wait. I’ve been working on Khajrana Road for a long time, and I know most of the families who live nearby. Indore is a busy city, but this corner feels like its own little world. I usually open up early before the school day starts and don’t close until the sun is well down. The lighting inside is just a couple of tube lights, and the floor is a bit worn from all the walking. I don’t mind it though. It feels like home to me. We don’t have any fancy equipment, just the regular stuff that gets the job done. Sometimes I listen to the radio to pass the time when it’s quiet between the morning and afternoon rushes. People just come in, sit down, and we get to work. It’s a very straightforward way to earn a living here in Khajrana. We are just here on the road.
