Groovy Salon

The name might sound a bit modern, but Groovy Salon in Vijay Nagar is really just a straightforward place to get your hair sorted. We are located in the 452001 area of Indore, which keeps us pretty busy most days. The shop itself has a few mirrors and those heavy chairs that you can pump up and down. They’ve been used so much the leather is smooth now. We usually start the day by cleaning up from the night before and setting out the spray bottles. There’s a particular smell to the place—a mix of talcum powder, cheap aftershave, and whatever shampoo we happen to be using that week. We don’t have a fancy waiting area, just a bench where people sit and scroll through their phones or talk to each other. People in Indore like to talk, so there’s never a shortage of conversation about the latest movie or why the traffic is so bad on the main road. The light isn't the best in the back corner, so we try to do most of the detailed work near the front. We’ve got a small TV that stays on the news, mostly for background noise. It’s a regular job for us, and we’ve seen all types of hair and all types of moods. We just keep our heads down and get the work done, one person after another, until it’s time to lock up.
