Glow Shine Beauty Parlour

The shop sits right at 217 on the Main Road here in Tilak Nagar. It is usually pretty busy outside with the traffic moving toward the center of Indore. I spend a lot of time just keeping the floor swept because the dust from the road gets in every time someone opens the door. We have been in this spot for a while now and most people around here know where we are. It is not a very big place, just enough room for the chairs and a few mirrors on the wall. Sometimes the afternoon sun hits the front window and it gets a bit warm inside, so we keep the fan running all day long. I usually start the morning by tidying up the towels and making sure the combs are clean. There is a tea stall just a few doors down where I get my morning chai before the first customer shows up. People from the neighborhood come by for basic things, maybe a haircut or getting their eyebrows done. We don't have fancy lights or anything like that. It is just a simple place where you can sit down and get your work done without much fuss. Usually, by the time evening rolls around, the street gets even louder. I try to stay organized, but sometimes the magazines on the table get messy when kids come in with their mothers. It is just the way it goes.
