Aarti Hair Cutting Saloon

Aarti Hair Cutting Saloon is right on the main road at Dewas Naka in Indore. If you know that area, you know how loud it gets with all the trucks and buses heading out of the city. Our shop is at number 54, and it’s a straightforward place for men to get a shave or a haircut. We have three chairs, but usually, only two are working at the same time. The floor is almost always covered in snippets of hair because the broom is usually leaning in the corner until we get a break. We have an old radio that plays local stations, though sometimes the signal gets fuzzy when a big lorry passes by. The mirrors are big and take up most of one wall, showing the reflection of the busy road outside. It’s a place where guys come to sit for twenty minutes, talk about cricket or the local news, and then head back to work. We don’t offer anything fancy, just a clean cut and maybe a head massage if we have the time. The tea stall next door brings us chai in small glasses twice a day. The walls used to be a brighter shade of blue, but they’ve faded over the years. We keep the scissors sharp and the razors fresh. It’s honest work, and we’ve been at this spot long enough to know most of the people who walk past our door every morning. We don't bother with appointments; you just show up and wait your turn like everyone else.
