The Siena Village

The Siena Village is located up in Chinnakanal. It is a quiet area far away from the big cities. We have been here for a while now, and the landscape is mostly hills and greenery. The weather here is the main thing people notice. It gets very misty and cold, especially in the evenings. We have a few buildings where the rooms are, and they are spread out a bit. It is not a modern concrete block. It feels more like a small village, which is why we have the name. We have local people working here who know the land very well. They help with the gardening and keeping the paths clear. Sometimes when it rains, the roads get a bit muddy, but that is just life in the hills. We do not have a big fancy lobby with marble floors. It is more about wood and stone. We spend a lot of time maintaining the gardens because the plants grow very fast in this climate. The kitchen serves simple food that is warm and filling. We do not have a big corporate office telling us what to do. We just run the place based on what needs to be done each day. If a roof leaks, we fix it. If the grass is long, we cut it. It is a very hands-on kind of life. People come here to see the tea gardens and just sit in the quiet. We just provide the space for them to do that.
