Down on Attukad Waterfall Road in Pallivasal, things are a lot quieter than the main town of Munnar. That is where you will find Devonshire Greens Leisure Hotel. We are surrounded by a lot of greenery and trees, which is why people come all the way up here. The road to get to us is quite curvy and can be a bit steep in some parts, especially when it rains and the mist rolls in. You can often hear the sound of the waterfall nearby if the wind is blowing the right way. We spend our days making sure the rooms are tidy and the gardens don't get too overgrown. It’s a lot of maintenance because the damp weather here makes everything grow so fast. The staff mostly lives nearby, so we know the area well. We don't have those fancy automated check-in kiosks you see in big cities. Instead, we just talk to our guests when they arrive and help them with their bags. It’s a slow pace of life up here in the hills. Sometimes the electricity goes out when there is a storm, and we have to scramble to get the generator going. We just want people to have a place to sit and look at the mountains without any big distractions. It is a simple place run by people who like the quiet.
