Up here in Munnar, the air is always a bit cooler, which is a nice change from the coast. Jes United Hospitality Resources Private Limited is based out of a house called Kalapurayil, located at 3/364 D in Pottankadu. It’s a quiet spot near the post office. We are a small group, led by Alby and Vincent, and we spend most of our time figuring out how to help other hospitality spots in the Idukki district. The hills around here are green most of the year, though the rain can get quite heavy during the season. Our office isn't a glass skyscraper; it's a practical space where we sit down and get through the daily tasks. We deal with a lot of local folks and people who are just passing through the mountains. Managing hospitality resources sounds complicated, but for us, it’s mostly about being organized and answering the phone when someone needs help. The roads up to Pottankadu can be a bit twisty and narrow, so we are used to a slower pace of life than you’d find in Kochi. We have our routines, like grabbing tea from the nearby shop and checking the mail at the P.O. It’s just how things are done here in this part of Kerala. We focus on our work and try to stay on top of all the little details that keep a business running in the hills. Sometimes the mist is so thick you can't even see the road clearly.
