Puttady is a small place in the Idukki district, and the weather here is usually a lot cooler than the plains. Our college is located right in this hilly area. When the mist rolls in, you can hardly see the road from the office window. The building has a simple design that fits the Kerala landscape. Inside, the floors are usually a bit damp from the rain that seems to fall half the year. We have a computer lab where the machines hum all day, and the classrooms are filled with students from all over the district. There’s a lot of greenery surrounding the walls, which is nice, though the weeds grow faster than we can pull them. The staff room is a small space where we keep our umbrellas and lunch boxes. Management and technology are the focus here, but the daily reality is more about checking if the generator has enough fuel for the power cuts. The students walk up the slope to get to the main entrance. We don't have any fancy elevators or high-tech gates. It’s just a solid building where people come to work and study. The evenings get quiet early because the mountain roads are hard to travel after dark. It’s a peaceful spot, even when the office is chaotic with deadlines. We just take things one day at a time in the hills.
