English Willow Cricket Grounds

We are located at Plot 59 in West Marredpally, which is a pretty quiet part of Secunderabad compared to the main roads. The English Willow Cricket Grounds is basically where we spend all our time worrying about the grass and the pitch. If you like cricket, you know that the ground has to be just right, or the ball won't bounce the way it should. We spend a lot of hours out there with the rollers and the mowers. It’s a lot of physical labor, honestly. During the monsoon, it’s a constant battle to keep the water off the playing area so the matches don't get ruined. We see a lot of local teams coming through, from young kids just starting out to older guys who have been playing for decades. There’s a certain sound when a bat hits the ball that everyone here recognizes. We aren't some massive stadium, just a good spot for people to play the game they love. The neighborhood around here is mostly residential, so we try to keep things orderly. Sometimes the balls end up in places they shouldn't, but that’s part of having a cricket ground in the city. We keep the nets ready and make sure the boundaries are marked out clearly. It’s mostly about providing a decent place for a game of cricket without any unnecessary extras.
