Vert Garments

You can find us over at Plot No. 57 HIG on the ground floor in Thanasha Nagar. Manikonda is a pretty busy area these days, so being on the ground level is a big help for us. It makes moving the heavy fabric rolls and the boxes of finished clothes much easier than if we were upstairs. Our setup is pretty basic. It is mostly just a big open space filled with sewing machines, cutting tables, and stacks of materials waiting to be used. We don’t have any fancy decorations or a lobby for visitors. It’s a working shop through and through. The sound of the machines starts early and doesn't really stop until we head home for the night. Our team consists of local people from the neighborhood who know how to handle a needle and thread. We spend most of our time focused on the work in front of us. It gets a little hot in the afternoons, but we have some fans to keep the air moving. Sometimes we take a break and stand near the door to watch the traffic go by on the street. It’s a simple way to make a living, and we’ve been doing it this way for a while now. We don’t do a lot of talking about what we do; we just get the garments ready.
