Uttage Garments

If you know the Osman Shai area, you know it's a hub for all sorts of clothes. Uttage Garments is located right near the Afzal Gunj side. We focus on basic wear that people actually use every day. We don't keep many high-end designer things because that’s not what our regulars are looking for. It’s mostly sturdy shirts, trousers, and some traditional wear that holds up well after many washes. The shop has been here for years, and the walls probably need a new coat of paint, but the clothes inside are what matters. We have a small staff, just a couple of guys who have worked with us since they were young. They know how to handle the stock and talk to customers without being pushy. Sometimes we run out of a particular size because the wholesalers are slow, but we usually get it back in a few days. The street outside is always crowded with autos and carts, so getting here can be a bit of a trek. But once you're inside, it’s just a straightforward shop. We don’t use computer systems for everything; we still write things down in a notebook most of the time. It works for us. We just want to provide decent clothing at a price that makes sense for a working person. It is hard work but we are glad to be part of the local trade here.
