Urooj High School

Urooj High School is located in Ashambad, which is part of the Chandrayan Gutta area in Hyderabad. This is a part of the city that stays awake late and starts early. The school sits among a lot of small businesses and residential blocks. You can always hear the hum of the city, the motorcycles zooming past, and the calls of the street vendors. The building is a multi-story structure that we have to keep organized so things don't get too bureaucratic or chaotic. It’s a bit of a climb to the top floors, but the view of the neighborhood is okay from up there. We have a lot of kids from the local families in Ashambad. The rooms aren't huge, so we have to be smart about how we arrange the benches. In the rainy season, the streets outside can get a bit muddy, and we spend half our time telling the kids to wipe their feet before they come inside. It is not a high-end private academy with a swimming pool or anything like that. It’s just a solid, practical place where children come to learn their subjects. The teachers are local people who understand the community here. We have a small office where we handle the paperwork, and it’s usually crowded with parents coming in to ask about fees or uniforms. We just take it one day at a time and keep the school running for the kids who live around here.
