Under A Designer

If you are walking around Hindinagar in Hyderabad, you will find us at Goshamahal. Our spot is numbered 5-5-1023/24, which sounds complicated but it's just where we are. This part of the city is always moving and we are right in the middle of that energy. We spend most of our time working on designs and making sure everything looks right before it goes out. It is a small team here. We share a lot of tea and spend hours looking at fabrics and sketches. The shop isn't like those huge malls you see now. It is more of a workspace where things actually get made. We have been in this building for some time now and the neighbors are all good people. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded with all the samples laying around, but that is just how we work best. You might have to look twice for the door if it's your first time visiting, but once you're inside, it's pretty quiet compared to the street outside. We like being here in 500012 because everyone knows everyone. We don't have a big corporate board or anything like that. It is just us trying to make things that people will actually want to wear or use. It is a lot of hand-to-eye work and long afternoons. We just stay busy and keep the lights on. The fabric rolls sometimes tip over and we just laugh and pick them up.
