We are situated on Lalapet Road, right next to Innova Hospital in Tarnaka. It’s a busy area of the city, and being near a hospital means there’s always something going on outside. Inside the college, we are usually busy with the practical side of things. You won’t find many people just sitting around. Most of the time, students are in the kitchens or practicing how to set up tables. We have different sections for cooking and service. The kitchen can get quite hot and loud when everyone is working on a meal at the same time. There’s a lot of washing up to do and equipment to keep clean. The building itself is straightforward, with classrooms for the theory parts and bigger rooms for the hands-on work. We don't have a lot of expensive decorations. Our focus is on making sure the students know how to handle the daily tasks they will face in a real hotel. You’ll see them walking around in their uniforms, which we try to keep neat, though spills happen when you’re learning to cook. It’s a lot of standing and moving around for hours. The staff here has been in the industry for a long time, so we know it’s not always glamorous. It’s hard work, but we just get on with it every day. The location is convenient for public transport, which helps everyone get here on time.
