Taj Mahal Hotel

The hotel is situated at Plot No 4-1-999 on Abids Road in Hyderabad. It’s right across from St George Girls Junior College which makes the area very busy during school hours. The street is noisy. There is a lot of traffic on Abids Road and you can hear the horns honking from inside the rooms sometimes. We have a lot of local people coming in just for a quick meal or a tea in the lower section. The building has been here for a long time and has that old Hyderabad feel to it. We don’t have the flashy modern look of the newer hotels but we keep things clean and functional. The staff wears uniforms and we spend our time making sure the guests have their keys and their rooms are ready. It’s a bit of a maze inside with different floors and stairways. We see a lot of people who have been coming here for years because it’s a familiar landmark for them. The kitchen is always busy making traditional food and the smell of spices usually drifts through the hallways in the morning. We have to deal with the heat in the summer months but the thick walls help a bit. It’s a practical place to stay if you need to be in the middle of the city. We just do our work and try to keep everything running smoothly without much fuss.
