Sunitha Sarees

Sunitha Sarees is located at 13-6-966/1 in Banjawadi Karwan. It’s a bit of a residential area, so the shop is integrated into the neighborhood quite closely. I started this because I had a bit of extra space and a lot of knowledge about different weaves. The address might seem a bit specific with all those numbers, but once you get to Banjawadi, most people can point you toward the right lane. It’s a quiet spot for the most part, away from the really heavy traffic of the main city roads. Inside, I’ve got sarees draped over some wooden railings I had installed. I don't like keeping everything in boxes because I think people should see the colors clearly. The light comes in through the front door and hits the silk in a nice way during the afternoon. I don’t have a lot of staff, just me usually. I spend my time talking to the ladies who live nearby. We discuss the latest patterns or just catch up on what’s happening in Karwan. It’s more of a community thing than a big business operation. Sometimes I get new stock in from the weavers and it takes me all day just to sort through it and find places for everything. It's a small place but it's mine, and I keep it running as best as I can every day, making sure the shelves don't get too dusty in the process.
