St Marys High School

Kukatpally is always moving, and St Marys High School is right in the middle of all that Hyderabad energy. If you walk by in the morning, you’ll see the sea of blue and white uniforms coming from all directions. We’ve been operating in this part of the city for years, so we’ve seen students grow up and eventually bring their own kids back here. The building has several floors, and the staircases are always full of life between periods. It’s not a quiet place, especially with the traffic noise from the main roads, but once the classroom doors shut, everyone settles down to work. We have a small staff room where we drink tea and plan the next day’s lessons. The desks are a bit old, and some have names scratched into them from ten years ago. We don’t spend much time worrying about how things look on the outside; we just make sure the chalk is ready and the registers are marked. Lunchtime is a busy part of the day because the smell of everyone’s home-cooked food fills the corridors. We have a playground that’s a bit small for the number of kids we have, but they make it work. It’s a typical city school with all the usual challenges like parking and heat. We just focus on the teaching and getting through the syllabus before the final exams start at the end of the year.
