At Ss Bakry, we start our work long before most people in the neighborhood are even awake. Being located at 1-1-110/20 in the Khaja Residency building means we are right in the heart of things, especially being so close to Dena Bank. Most mornings, the smell of fresh bread and biscuits starts drifting out onto the street while the sun is still coming up. It is a lot of hard work, mostly involving heavy sacks of flour and hot ovens, but we have grown used to the heat over the years. We are not a big chain or anything like that; it is just a local spot where people stop by on their way to work or while running errands. Our counters are usually filled with whatever we managed to bake that morning. Sometimes we run out of certain items faster than we expected, but that is part of the charm of a small bakery. The staff here are locals who live nearby, so there is always some chatting going on across the counter. We keep the place clean and simple, focusing on the baking rather than fancy decorations. It can get pretty hectic during the evening rush when everyone wants something for tea, but we manage. If you are walking near the bank, you can’t really miss us at Khaja Residency. We just enjoy being part of the daily routine for the folks living around here in this part of town.
