Sonali Mandhata

This is Sonali Mandhata. I work out of Flat Number 101 in Unity House, which is located in Nizam Colony. If you know the Tolichowki area of Hyderabad, you know it can be a very crowded and lively place. Nizam Colony is tucked away a bit from the main road, but you can still hear the buzz of the city from here. I’ve been at this address, 9-4-62/108, for a while now. It’s a simple flat that I’ve turned into my workspace. I don’t have a receptionist or a big board meeting room. It’s just a desk, a few chairs, and a lot of papers. I started doing this because I wanted something I could manage on my own without a lot of fuss. Tolichowki is a good spot because everything you need is close by, even if the traffic is a nightmare sometimes. My days are mostly spent right here in this flat, taking calls and finishing up whatever work I have. It’s not a polished business by any means. Sometimes the tea is cold and the printer jams, but that’s just how it is when you’re running things yourself. I don’t have any big plans to move into a fancy office building. This place in Nizam Colony works for me and it’s where I feel comfortable getting my work done. It’s just a small, local setup run by one person in a busy part of Hyderabad.
