Our place is located in Chandanagar, right next to the big BSNL building. Most people around here use that as a landmark to find us at Swagath Residency. It is a busy part of Hyderabad and the main road usually has a lot of trucks and cars going by at all hours. We spend most of our day at the front desk or walking around the property to check on things. It is a lot of back and forth between the office and the rooms. The building itself is sturdy enough though it has been around for a few years now. We do not have a big corporate office or anything like that. It is just a few of us here making sure the bookings are handled and the water is running okay in the taps. A lot of people stay here when they have work at the offices nearby. Every morning starts with a cup of tea and a quick look at the ledger. We still write things down by hand because it is simpler than trusting the computer for everything. Sometimes the power cuts out for a little bit and we have to go check on the backup generator. The staff hangs out in the small back room when there is not much going on. We talk about our families or what we are planning for dinner. It is just a normal job for us and we have been part of this neighborhood for a long time.
